Feadship Venus… might become the goddess of the seas

On Sunday, October 28, 2012 at Feadship Koninklijke De Vries yard in Aalsmeer was unveiled Feadship Venus, the last "realization" of Steve Jobs.

Her construction began in 2009 under the code name "Aqua", this yacht is the result of the collaboration between Steve Jobs, Philippe Starck and dutch shipyard Feadship. She is 78.20 m long, with a sleek minimalist design, well in line with the Apple brand products. The exterior entirely made of aluminum gives her a unique shine. The cabins have extra large openings and living spaces are covered with mirrors. This signature of designer Philippe Starck is also found in the interiors of Superyacht A (Blohm & Voss yard). Her wheelhouse includes seven 27-inch iMac!

Steve Jobs was heavily involved in the design of Venus, he probably doubted he would see Venus at seal, and he tdeclared to his biographer Walter Isaacson: "I know that it's possible I will die and leave Laurene with a half-built boat," he said. "But I have to keep going on it. If I don't, it's an admission that I'm about to die."

In the Roman mythology Venus is the goddess of love, seduction and beauty.

The launch of Venus was followed by a private cocktail party attended by teams of Feadship, Laurene (the widow of Steve Jobs) and three of their children. Feadship employees who participated in the construction of this beautiful unit all received an iPod Shuffle engraved with the name of the yacht, as a thank you gift.
